Copilot schedule prompt disappeared overnight.

I I’m using the basic version of Microsoft Copilot for my company and had access to the "Schedule Prompt" feature on Tuesday. I successfully set up a scheduled prompt to summarise my emails and I am still receiving the scheduled email notifications.

However, since Wednesday, the Schedule Prompt option has disappeared from the Copilot chat interface. I can no longer see any way to create, manage, or view scheduled prompts.

No changes were made to my Copilot app, account, licence, or settings between Tuesday and Wednesday, so I'm trying to understand why the feature has disappeared while the existing scheduled prompt continues to run.

Has anyone else experienced this, or is there a known issue with the Schedule Prompt feature currently being unavailable? it was available and the company IT has no idea and told me to contact Microsoft as they have made no changes from their end

    Hi @Manoharan, Sindhuja [SVCS]

    1. Verify your Copilot version

    Open Copilot → bottom-left → check if you’re on the latest build.

    If not, update the app.

    2. Try the web version

    Go to: https://copilot.microsoft.com

    Some users report the Schedule Prompt option still appears on web even when missing in desktop.

    3. Try the Windows Copilot sidebar

    Press Win + C Check if the Schedule Prompt option appears there.

    4. Check if your scheduled prompt is still editable

    Send this message inside Copilot:

    Show my scheduled prompts

    If the backend is still active, it will return your existing schedule even if the UI button is missing.

    Thanks.

    Hi @Manoharan, Sindhuja [SVCS]

    Based on my research, Scheduled Prompts depend on Microsoft's "Connected Experiences" setting. Microsoft documents that if this is disabled at either the organization level (Cloud Policy), or the individual user privacy level, the Scheduled Prompts UI disappears. Existing schedules may continue running. Since your IT team says they made no changes, it would still be worth checking your personal setting:

    Microsoft 365 app  > File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings

    Look for:

    •	Optional/Additional Connected Experiences

    •	Connected Experiences that analyze content
    ```If your organization manages these settings, they may be locked.
    Another thing happening right now that Scheduled Prompts are being moved from one policy framework ("Optional Connected Experiences") to another ("Microsoft 365 Connected Experiences") during an August 2026 rollout. Existing scheduled prompts should continue running during the transition.
    So if possible, you can contact the IT admin to raise a ticket through the Admin Center where experts can assist you better.
    What is happening matches documented scheduled prompt behavior when connected experiences are disabled.
    If connected experiences are turned off for the organization, users:
    1. Can’t see the scheduled prompts icon or prompt management menu.
    2. Can’t manage previously scheduled prompts.
    3. Still keep sessions for previously run scheduled prompts.
    4. Still have previously scheduled prompts continue to run until the schedule finishes.
    That exactly fits this scenario: the Schedule Prompt option disappeared, but the existing scheduled email summary is still running.
    The most relevant checks are:
    1. In a Microsoft 365 app, go to File > Account > Account Privacy > Manage Settings.
    2. Confirm All connected experiences is turned on.
    3. If available, also confirm Experiences that analyze your content is turned on.
    4. If the account is organization-managed, the IT admin must verify the cloud policy Allow the use of connected experiences in Office is not set to Disabled.
    Important admin detail: disabling connected experiences removes scheduled prompt visibility, but does not stop already scheduled prompts immediately. They continue until their schedule ends.
    Also note:
    • Scheduled prompts require a Microsoft Copilot license.
    • Scheduled prompts are available in Copilot Chat, Microsoft Copilot in Teams, and Outlook for the web and Desktop.
    • Users can create up to 10 different scheduled prompts.
    • Legacy scheduled prompts created during the public preview may still run in Power Automate and won’t appear on the Microsoft Copilot scheduled prompts page.
    If IT says nothing changed, the strongest documented explanation is still a connected experiences setting at either the user privacy level or org policy level.
