Hi,

My organization identity validation request for Artifact Signing moved to Failed. Neither the notification email nor the Azure portal shows any reason, so I cannot tell what to correct before submitting a new request.

Request details

  • Identity validation id: fe38d9fb-5637-4944-b6b2-f9467a6e3cab
  • Subscription id: 8181ea14-553f-40f7-b014-b31210691e83
  • Organization name: Prism Gray
  • Type: Organization / Public
  • Region: Korea Central
  • Billing account type: Microsoft Customer Agreement, organization, Active

Background

Prism Gray is a registered sole proprietorship in South Korea (the business registration number can be shared privately). The registered trade name is "프리즘 그레이 (Prism Gray)" — the English name "Prism Gray" is part of the official registration, which is why it matches the Sold-to name on the billing account and the Organization name on the request.

Individual identity validation via Verified ID completed successfully. The request then moved to Action Required, and I uploaded:

  • Category 1 — Government issued letter/license/registration/certificate: the national business registration certificate issued by the National Tax Service.
  • Category 2 — Domain purchase invoices or registry confirmation records: registrar records for both domains referenced in the request.

Note that two different domains are involved: the primary/secondary email addresses are on prism-gray.com (registered through Amazon Registrar / Route 53), while the website URL on the request is sssk.kr (registered through hosting.kr), which is the service the certificate will be used for. Both are owned by the same entity.

Shortly after uploading, the status changed to Failed.

Questions

  1. Could you check internally what caused this validation to fail?
  2. Is a South Korean sole proprietorship eligible for Public Trust organization validation?
  3. If the mismatch between the email domain and the website domain is the issue, should both be the same domain, or is additional documentation needed to link them?
  4. The FAQ states that when an identity validation already exists for a primary email address and another request is required, support must be contacted. Can I create a new request with the same primary email, or does this need to be reset first?

I can share the submitted documents or any other details through a private message.

Thanks.
