I've done all the AI recommended things like deleting cookies, using private windows etc, and no luck. This only happens when I click on Sharepoint. Please help.

    Hi @SR

I understand that SharePoint cannot open through the Microsoft 365 launcher and displays ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS. This error occurs when the launcher repeatedly redirects between sign-in or SharePoint pages but cannot complete the connection, which may be related to the launcher path, account provisioning, or SharePoint license assignment.

Here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Try accessing SharePoint directly

Instead of accessing SharePoint through the Microsoft 365 launcher, try opening the organization’s SharePoint site directly:

    https://<your-tenant-name>.sharepoint.com

Replace <your-tenant-name> with the organization’s Microsoft 365 tenant name.

Alternatively, try accessing the OneDrive landing page:

    https://<your-tenant-name>-my.sharepoint.com

After signing in, select the app launcher in the upper-left corner and try opening SharePoint.

    User's image

Please confirm whether either direct URL can be accessed. This information may help determine whether the behavior is limited to the Microsoft 365 launcher or also occurs when accessing SharePoint directly.

    1. Check the SharePoint Online license and account status

You can ask your Microsoft 365 administrator can verify whether the affected account has an active license that includes SharePoint Online and whether the SharePoint Online service is enabled under Licenses and apps.

The administrator can review this in the Microsoft 365 admin center:

    • Go to Users > Active users.
    • User's image
    • Select the affected user.
    • Open Licenses and apps.
    • User's image
    • Confirm that a license containing SharePoint Online is assigned.
    • Expand Apps and check whether SharePoint Online is enabled.
    • User's image

If the account was recently created, relicensed, restored, or had its User Principal Name changed, the administrator may also need to verify whether the related account and service changes have finished processing.

I hope this information helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reply, and I’ll be happy to assist where I can.

Since this happens only when selecting SharePoint from m365.cloud.microsoft, use a direct SharePoint sign-in path instead of the launcher first:

    1. Go to https://m365.cloud.microsoft and sign in.
    2. Open the App launcher.
    3. Select SharePoint.
    4. If SharePoint still loops, sign in directly from the SharePoint site URL instead:
      • Paste the SharePoint site URL into the browser address bar.
      • Sign in on the Microsoft 365 sign-in page when prompted.

If the issue is caused by browser sign-in data or cookies, the documented fix for SharePoint access problems is to delete cookies in Microsoft Edge. A SharePoint HTTP 400 "Header Field Too Long" error is specifically caused by too many cookies being sent, and deleting cookies resolves it.

If the redirect is caused by a policy, check whether the browser is being redirected to a cas.ms address and shows "Access to Microsoft SharePoint Online is monitored". That behavior means a Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps session policy is applying to the session. In that case, the policy must be reviewed in Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps by locating the affected user in the activity log and then disabling the policy or removing the user from the affected group.

To confirm whether this is a redirect-loop issue, test the SharePoint launch URL in Edge:

    1. Open the URL.
    2. Press F12.
    3. Open the Network tab.
    4. Turn on Preserve log.
    5. Reload the page.
    6. Check for repeated 301, 302, 307, or 308 responses for the same request.

If there are more than 5 redirects before the page settles or fails, that confirms a redirect loop.
