emails won't open on android phone outlook

The problem seems to be solved - Samsung Internet had an update available (I was just wandering around looking at everything in my Apps; no idea how/why I found that). I updated and now my emaill is behaving normally. Thank you both for your suggestions

Since the emails open normally on your laptop, this sounds more like an issue with the Outlook app on the Android phone rather than the mailbox itself.

If you haven't tried anything yet, please try these steps:

• Completely close Outlook and restart the phone.
• Open the Google Play Store and check for an Outlook update.
• Go to Settings > Apps > Outlook > Storage, then tap Clear cache. Do not choose Clear data yet.
• Open Outlook again and test a few emails.

1. What Android phone model and Android version are you using?
2. Did this start after an Outlook app or Android update?
3. If you have more than one email account in Outlook, does this happen with all accounts or only one?

Since Outlook works fine on your laptop and the problem is only on the Android app, it sounds more like an app issue than an account problem.

First, completely close Outlook and reopen it, then check the Play Store for an update. If it still only flickers when you tap an email, try Outlook > Settings > select your email account > Reset Account. Microsoft recommends this when the mobile app is showing incorrect or incomplete behavior.

If that still doesn't work, you can also use Profile picture > ? > Contact Outlook Mobile Support directly from the Android app.

Since even old and sent emails won't open, you should try the account reset before removing and reinstalling the app.
