A common cause is that Windows has a Microsoft account, work or school account, or app-linked account that needs attention.
Check these places in Windows 11:
- Open Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- If an account is listed there and shows a problem, select it and review the status.
- If it is an account that should not be connected, select it and choose Disconnect.
- Open Settings > Accounts and review other account-related sections.
- If the issue is tied to accounts used by apps, review the accounts listed there.
- If the message is specifically about sign-in problems, use the Windows sign-in troubleshooting flow. This is the right path when the warning appears during sign-in or Windows says an account needs attention.
- If the PC is signed in with a Microsoft personal account, open the Get Help app. It can provide troubleshooting resources and run diagnostic tests.
If the warning keeps returning, a frequent cause is a leftover work or school account connection. In that case, Settings > Accounts > Access work or school is the first place to check.
