Office Home & Student is a one-time purchase that can be installed on only 1 PC or Mac at a time. It is not a shareable subscription for another person.

If the goal is to let another person use Microsoft 365 benefits separately, only Microsoft 365 Family and Microsoft 365 Premium can be shared. Microsoft 365 Family can be shared with up to five other people.

For newer one-time purchase editions, Office Home & Student 2021 and Office 2024 can be transferred to another computer that belongs to the same owner, but not shared for simultaneous use by another person.
