If the original date and time are embedded in the photo or video's metadata, they should normally remain August 20, 2026, even after the file is uploaded to and downloaded from OneDrive. However, the behavior can vary depending on the file format, the device being used, and the method used to download the file.
After downloading, your phone's file manager may display August 25, 2026 as the file's creation or download date because that reflects when the file was saved back onto the device. At the same time, the Photos or Gallery app may still show August 20, 2026 if it reads the original metadata stored inside the photo or video. Therefore, the original capture date is usually preserved, even though the file date shown by some apps may be different.
