SharePoint Store Option Not Visible in “Add an App”

Hello,

I am facing an issue in SharePoint Online where the “From SharePoint Store” option is not visible under Add an app → My apps.

Current Behavior

When I navigate to Add an app → My apps, I can see only the following options:

All

From my organization

However, the “From SharePoint Store” option is not available.

Configuration Checked

I have already verified the following:

SharePoint Store / App Purchases is enabled in the SharePoint Admin Center.

The required permissions are available on the SharePoint site.

I have checked the SharePoint app-related settings.

Despite these settings being enabled, the “From SharePoint Store” option is still not displayed.

Expected Behavior

The My apps section should provide the following options:

All | From my organization | From SharePoint Store

Question

Could anyone please advise what additional tenant-level, SharePoint Admin Center, or permission settings need to be checked to make the “From SharePoint Store” option visible?

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hi @Ankit Mulewa

I tested this in my environment and can confirm that when App Purchases is enabled, the "From SharePoint Store" option is visible under Add an app > My apps.

User's image Based on the information provided, I am not aware of any additional tenant-level setting.

    Could you please confirm:

    • Does the issue affect multiple users or only a specific account?
    • Is the "From SharePoint Store" option missing only under Add an app > My apps, or is the SharePoint Store itself also inaccessible?
    • Does the issue occur across multiple SharePoint sites or only a specific site collection?

If the issue is reproducible for multiple users across multiple sites and the SharePoint Store/App Purchases settings are already enabled, this may indicate a tenant-specific configuration issue or a service-side issue. In that case, I would recommend opening a support request with Microsoft so that the tenant configuration and backend service behavior can be reviewed.

    Check these items:

    1. Verify an Apps site exists in the tenant. The SharePoint admin setting to change Store behavior is not enabled until an Apps site has been created. This is a tenant-level prerequisite.
    2. In the SharePoint admin center:
      • Go to More features
      • Under Apps, select Open
      • Select More features
      • Select Configure store settings
      • Confirm App Purchases = Yes
    3. Confirm the app is being added from the correct place on the site:
      • Go to SettingsAdd an app
      • On My apps, the left filter can show:
        • From my organization for tenant-added apps
        • From SharePoint Store for store apps
      • Some apps are available only in the classic experience, so use the classic experience link if the modern page does not show the expected app options.
    4. If direct Store acquisition is not available, users can still browse the SharePoint Store and request apps when tenant settings prevent direct acquisition. In that flow:
      • SettingsAdd an app
      • Select SharePoint Store
      • Choose the app
      • Select Request
    5. Check whether the expected behavior is affected by SharePoint add-in retirement. Installing SharePoint add-ins from the SharePoint Store has not been possible since July 1, 2024. If the missing option is expected for SharePoint Store add-ins, that retirement is a likely reason the Store entry is no longer appearing as expected.
    6. If the goal is to make apps available to site owners, add them to the Apps site from the SharePoint admin center instead:
      • More features in the SharePoint admin center
      • Open under Apps
      • Select SharePoint Store in the left pane
      • Select the app
      • Add to Apps site
      • Optionally select Enable this app and add it to all sites

The two most important checks for this scenario are:

    • Apps site exists
    • The expected app is not a SharePoint add-in from the public Store, because public Store acquisition for SharePoint add-ins was retired starting July 1, 2024
