    Hi, @J Ze

To help narrow down the issue:

    1. Are you seeing this message on a Windows PC or a Mac?
    2. When you sign in to your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services does the subscription show as active there, or still unpaid?

If you haven't tried anything yet (Windows):

    • Make sure you're signed in with the same Microsoft account that the subscription is linked to.
    • Then, open any Office app (like Word or Excel), go to File > Account, and click "Update License" to refresh your subscription status.

    If you're using Mac (MacOS):

    • Open any Microsoft 365 app such as Word. > At the top of the screen, select Word (or the app name) in the menu bar. > Select About Word. > Click More Info… > Select "Refresh License".
    • After that, close any open documents and completely restart all Microsoft 365 apps so the license refresh can take effect.

If the issue persists, please provide more details by answering my questions.

Click "Add comment" to let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

First, verify that the renewal is active by signing in to your Microsoft account and checking Services & subscriptions. If the subscription is active, close Word and all other Microsoft 365 apps, then reopen Word and sign in with the exact Microsoft account used for the purchase.

If you purchased the renewal through the App Store, “Unable to associate your purchase” can indicate that the purchase is linked to a different Apple/Microsoft account. Sign out of the Microsoft 365 app, close and reopen it, and use Restore Previous Purchase with the account used for the purchase.

If it still does not activate, Microsoft recommends running its Microsoft 365 activation troubleshooter or reinstalling Office after confirming the subscription is active.

Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.
