Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
For a work or school Outlook account on a new iPhone, the fastest paths are:
- On the sign-in screen, select I can’t use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now or another available verification option.
- If another method was already set up, use that to sign in.
- If no other method is available, continue with the next steps.
- If Outlook mobile sign-in is allowed by the organization, use Outlook mobile as the verification method instead of Authenticator.
- Requirements:
- Outlook for Android version 4.2405.0 or later, or Outlook for iOS version 4.2438.0 or later
- The organization must allow Outlook to authenticate
- At least one other verification method must already be configured, or a temporary access password must be provided by the IT admin
- To use a code in Outlook mobile:
- Open Outlook.
- Tap the Home icon.
- Tap the Settings gear.
- Under General, tap Accounts and select the account.
- Tap Sign-in requests.
- Copy the code and paste it into the sign-in page.
- Codes refresh every 30 seconds.
- Requirements:
- If Microsoft Authenticator shows Authentication did not complete, check these common causes on the iPhone:
- Make sure the Authenticator app is unlocked.
- Make sure notifications are enabled and not silent.
- Update to the latest version of Microsoft Authenticator.
- Check internet connectivity; switching between Wi‑Fi and mobile data can help.
- Make sure the device date and time are correct.
- If this is a work or school account and no alternate sign-in method works, contact the organization’s IT admin or Helpdesk and ask them to reset the MFA methods so Authenticator can be registered again on the new phone.
- If locked out and the account is the only Global Administrator for the tenant, contact Microsoft Support by phone so a support case can be created for account recovery.
