Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Try these checks in order:
- Confirm the daughter is still using the same Microsoft account that accepted the sharing invitation.
- In Word or another Office app, go to File > Account.
- If multiple accounts are signed in, sign out and sign back in with the account that accepted the family sharing invite.
- Verify the shared subscription is visible on the daughter’s Microsoft account.
- Sign in to Services & subscriptions with the invited account.
- The shared Microsoft 365 Family benefit should appear there.
- Check whether the daughter is in another family group.
- Sharing only works if the invitee joins the subscription owner’s family group.
- If already in another family group, that group must be left first, then the daughter must join the subscription owner’s family group.
- Re-share the subscription.
- On the subscription sharing page, use Stop sharing for the daughter, then share again.
- If needed, use Invite to family so the daughter is in the correct Microsoft family group.
- Important: when sharing is stopped, access to benefits ends, including extra OneDrive storage and Microsoft 365 desktop apps.
- If Office still shows the subscription as expired on the device, reinstall Office from the invited account.
- First uninstall existing Office apps to avoid conflicts.
- Restart the PC.
- Then sign in with the invited Microsoft account and install Microsoft 365 again from Services & subscriptions.
- If the apps still show expired after that, contact Microsoft Support through Contact Support.
