Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Hey there, Christina Yu
This can happen when the system detects unusual activity when you create an account. From experience from helping users with similar problem to yours, it could be because:
- You have created multiple Microsoft accounts from the same location in a short space of time,
- The accounts you have have been sending bulk emails that have been reported as SPAM/Junk resulting in your IP having a bad reputation,
- You are signing up using a Virtual Private Network (VPN),
Please allow 24 hours to pass before trying to create another Microsoft account. When you do create a new Microsoft account, please make sure:
- Make sure your VPN is disabled (if you have one),
- If your using WIFI connection, try using your mobile connection instead,
- Try using an InPrivate browsing window.
If you are using a computer/laptop running on Windows 11, you can try creating a Microsoft account through Windows. To do this, please go to Start and open the Settings app.
On the left-hand side navigation menu, please click onto "Accounts"
This will load the account settings page where you can mange your account and other users who can sign in on your PC/ device. Under account settings, please click onto "Other users"
This will open a page where you can see other user accounts that can sign into your PC/ device. Please click onto "Add account"
This will open a dialog box asking you to enter the person's email address or phone number. Please click onto "I don't have this person's sign-in information"
This will take you to a new page where you can create a new Microsoft account. Please click onto "Get a new email address"
This will allow you to create a new Microsoft account. Some people have found that creating an account through this method has been more successful then the sign-up form available online.
Hope this helps,
Nathan
