Hi there, my name is Brock, and recently, when I tried to play Minecraft, I got a message saying my Microsoft account had been locked for violating Microsoft's Service Agreement, with no next option other than an appeal form.

So, I followed the link the locked page sent me and filled out the appeal form to try and recover my account. Instead, I received an automated message saying that because I have two-factor verification enabled, they are unable to help and that my account is suspended permanently "to prevent further use."

But unlike others who have had to deal with this problem, I have all my methods to get past 2FA. I have two different emails linked to my account, an iPad security code, and a recovery code, all for the account. But I can't even attempt to sign in and get past 2FA because it says my account has been locked.

I sent multiple emails to the Microsoft Account Support team explaining this and that if they just unsuspended my account, I could log in just fine and turn off 2FA. However, I keep getting the same automated message saying that because of 2FA, they can't recover my account.

The thing is, my account is not compromised in any way, as confirmed by Microsoft, nor have I done anything to cause this permanent suspension. On top of that, I can literally get past 2FA and log in just fine if my account wasn't suspended in the first place.

I am basically locked out of my own account because of the very fact that 2FA is on, and Microsoft's reasoning for not unsuspending my account is that 2FA is on, so I can't log in to get past 2FA with my many means of verification because my account is suspended. And, of course, they can't help me because of 2FA.

So I have been stuck in this continuous loop of being unable to log in because my account is suspended, which is caused by 2FA, which I can't change because they won't even attempt to let me log in.

In summary, my account is suspended because of a security change I caused, and I apparently just can't get any help from Microsoft because of 2FA, even though I would be able to log in just fine without the suspension.

In the emails I sent to Microsoft, I provided exceptional detail and proof that the account was mine and that the security "risk" was, in fact, just me. But, of course, because of 2FA, they won't even read the email and just automatically say my account is suspended forever.

This account really means a lot to me, having my entire Minecraft account attached to it with over 1,200 hours of playtime. It's really frustrating and sad that I am just stuck in this loop of feedback that goes nowhere.

Posting here is like my last Hail Mary to anyone who can possibly help me.

1 -- Was your account suspended "Due to suspicious activity or for violating of Microsoft's Terms of Use agreement"

I've tried to use the sign in helper but everytimes I get to the last page it says this

So even though I have everything I need to sign in and prove it smy account Microsoft just can't help me because of 2FA. I've sent an appeals email three times now and everytime its like no one even bother to read or help me its always the automatic message saying they can't help me because of 2FA.

There are two entirely different account forms:

Account Recovery: https://account.live.com/acsr

Account Reinstatement: https://www.microsoft.com/digitalsafety/account-reinstatement

Account Recovery can not be used if your account has 2FA. But, as far as I know, Account Reinstatement has no such restrictions.

I thought that too but yesterday I sent a email to account Reinstatement and I got two responses for the two emails I sent both the same exact copy and pasted email. "Hello

We received your service request and after review, I found Two-Step Verification (TSV) has been enabled on the account. Unfortunately, when TSV is turned on, we are unable to assist with an account recovery as TSV takes the account recovery completely out of control of customer service. We are unable to remove the TSV or make any changes to the security information on the account due to security protocols set up on the account and accepted in the Microsoft Services agreement when the account was created.

The only option we have is to permanently suspend this account to prevent any further use of the account. I have verified that the account is suspended and will remain so.

Although this may not be the resolution you were expecting, unfortunately, it is the only resolution we can provide.

Thank you so much for your understanding and patience during the resolution of the issue.

TSV is not even mentioned in the official Reinstatement docs.

But based on your case, Microsoft has obviously decided to apply this restriction in some arbitrary or capricious manner.

I am sorry. But I don't have any other suggestions. I don't know of any other appeal process.

Like when I use the account recovery tool my recovery code and emails work but then when I select the 30 day account info change it just stops working and says "There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later."
