Accessing Microsoft Teams using organizational or personal credentials
I understand that you can access Microsoft Teams and your email again, but you are now unable to sign in to your Canvas LMS because the verification code from Microsoft Authenticator is being rejected as invalid.
Since the Authenticator app is generating a code but it is not being accepted, please try the following:
1.Check your phone's date and time
Make sure the date and time on your mobile device are set to update automatically and are correctly synchronized.
2.Verify the account in Microsoft Authenticator
Open Microsoft Authenticator and make sure you are using the code from the correct work or school account associated with your Canvas LMS sign-in.
3.Try another verification method, if available
If the Canvas sign-in page provides another verification option, such as SMS or another authentication method previously configured for your account, you can try that method instead.
If the issue persists, I recommend contacting your organization's IT administrator and asking them to reset your MFA authentication methods. They can refer to the following Microsoft article for the steps: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication - Microsoft Entra ID |….
After the MFA methods are reset, you should be able to register Microsoft Authenticator again and complete the sign-in process.
For security and management reasons, only your organization’s IT administrators can manage MFA settings for work or school accounts.
I hope this helps!
