OneDrive photos

To get photos from an Android phone to a PC through OneDrive, use OneDrive camera upload on the phone and connect OneDrive in the Photos app on the PC.

1. On the Android phone, install and open the OneDrive app.
2. In the OneDrive app, turn on Camera Upload in Settings. New photos and videos will start uploading automatically to OneDrive.
3. On the PC, open the Photos app.
4. In the Photos app, go to the OneDrive tab in the left navigation.
5. Select Sign in and connect the same OneDrive account used on the phone.
6. After the upload finishes, the photos and videos stored in OneDrive will appear in the Photos app on the PC.

If a direct cable transfer is preferred instead of OneDrive:

1. Connect the phone to the PC with a USB cable that supports file transfer.
2. Unlock the phone.
3. On the PC, open Photos from Start.
4. Select Import > the connected device, then follow the prompts.
5. On Android, if needed, change the USB setting to transfer media or photos.

If some photos are missing in OneDrive on Android, open the OneDrive mobile app, go to Files, browse to the target folder, and add the missing files manually. Photos can also be shared to OneDrive from the phone’s Gallery or Photos app.

If camera upload is paused, common causes are lack of storage space or missing photo/media permission. In that case:

1. On Android, go to Settings > Permission Manager > Files and Media.
2. Select OneDrive and choose Deny.
3. Return to the OneDrive app.
4. Go to Me > Settings > Camera upload.
5. Confirm the Camera upload account is the correct account.
6. Turn Camera upload on again.

Also check available OneDrive storage, because camera roll photos count against the OneDrive storage quota.
