Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
The most likely reasons are:
- The subscription was canceled too close to the billing date. Cancellations must be made more than 2 days before the billing date.
- The charge is tied to a different Microsoft account than the one used to cancel.
- The subscription may already be set to expire, and what appears on the page determines the status:
- If Cancel subscription appears, it is still active.
- If Turn on recurring billing appears, it is already set to expire and no further charges should occur after the shown date.
- If money is still owed on the subscription, cancellation cannot complete until the overdue amount is paid.
- If the subscription was bought through Google Play, Apple App Store, or a third-party retailer, cancellation and refunds must be handled through that seller.
Recommended path:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy the subscription.
- Check the subscription status:
- Select Cancel subscription if that option is available.
- If the page shows Turn on recurring billing, the subscription is already set to end on the displayed date.
- Check the subscription end date in Services & subscriptions.
- Review order history for repeated charges and compare it with bank statements.
- If the charge is not visible in that account, go to Manage your payments and select Investigate to check whether the card is being used on another Microsoft account.
- If the subscription was purchased from Apple, Google Play, Amazon, Best Buy, Harvey Norman, or another retailer, contact that provider directly for cancellation and refund handling.
- If eligible for a refund, cancel first, then follow the refund flow for the subscription.
- If the issue continues after confirming the correct account and cancellation status, contact Microsoft Support through the support flow.
If the bank statement shows charges over multiple months, checking both Services & subscriptions and Order history, then using Investigate on Manage your payments, is the fastest way to determine whether this is an active recurring charge, a second Microsoft account, or a charge from another seller.
