Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
For a Microsoft subscription purchased directly from Microsoft, the fastest path is:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the Microsoft account used for the purchase.
- Find the subscription and select Manage.
- Select Cancel or Cancel subscription.
- Follow the prompts. Refund eligibility is checked as part of the cancellation flow.
Key points:
- Not all cancellations result in a refund.
- In most cases, a refund may be available within 30 days of the initial purchase or before the first recurring billing date, whichever is sooner.
- A refund of the most recent recurring billing charge may also be available if cancellation happens within 30 days after payment. This is limited to one time per Microsoft account, per subscription product.
- If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Manage or Cancel, the subscription is already set to expire and no further cancellation action is needed.
If the subscription was purchased through Google Play, the Apple App Store, or a third-party retailer such as Amazon, cancellation and refund must be handled through that seller.
If help from a person is needed, use Microsoft Support: go to Contact Microsoft Support, enter the problem, select Get Help, and then Contact Support.
If the issue is an unrecognized charge, investigate it from the Manage your payments page.
