My husband opened our Family account and assigned me as the family manager but his view and my view are very different when logging into the account. He's able to see all that the invitations have been sent to with their status but mine, I only see my information and appears to be only a user account. I confirmed on his account that I am assigned as the manager and should have access. I'm trying to set up my son on the account and can't. Please help.

In Microsoft Family Safety, the two roles are organizer and member. If the account only shows personal information and not the family members or invitation status, that account is functioning as a member view, not the organizer view.

    What to check:

    1. Sign in with the organizer account at family.microsoft.com.
      • The organizer account can see invitation status on the family member page, including Pending member.
      • The organizer can also cancel an invite by selecting More > Cancel invite.
    2. Confirm which Microsoft account is signed in.
      • Only the correct organizer account can manage invitations and family members.
      • If one account can see all invites and statuses and the other cannot, the two accounts do not currently have the same organizer-level visibility in that family group.
    3. Use the account that can already see the invitations to add the son.
      • Since that account already shows the invitation list and statuses, it is the account with the working organizer access.
    4. If the son was already invited but does not appear correctly, check whether he may already be connected to a different family group or a different Microsoft account.
      • A similar resolved case showed that when a child appeared tied to a different family group, the fix was to sign in to all possible Microsoft accounts for the organizer and check which one shows the child.
    5. If the child account is on a Windows device, verify the account state:
      • Make sure the child is using a Microsoft account on the device.
      • On the child’s device, go to Start > Settings > Accounts and select Verify if available.
      • If needed, open Microsoft Edge on the child’s device and verify the account at https://aka.ms/familyverify.
      • Also make sure the child is set as a Standard user, not an Administrator, because an Administrator can change or break Family Safety settings.
    6. If the organizer account still cannot manage the family correctly, use Microsoft support:

A practical path is to manage the family from the husband’s account for now, because that is the account currently showing organizer controls and invitation status.

    Hello Julie Hauser,

Since your husband’s page already shows you as a manager, please check whether the organizer invitation was fully accepted by your Microsoft account.

Sign out of the Family page, sign back in with the exact account that received the invitation, and check for any pending invitation. If it was already accepted but organizer controls are still missing, Microsoft Support may need to review the family-group status.
