Using Outlook for Android for personal email and calendar management
For a new phone, the fastest checks are:
- Install the latest Outlook mobile app. Recurring password prompts or sign-in failures can happen if the app is outdated.
- If this is a Microsoft personal account, use the sign-in helper tool to identify the account issue and follow the recovery steps it provides: Start
- If this is a work or school Microsoft 365 account, use self-service password reset if it is enabled: Reset password
- On Android, if another Microsoft app such as Authenticator or Company Portal is installed, check device power settings:
- Turn off power-saving mode.
- Allow Authenticator or Company Portal to auto-launch and secondary launch.
- Disable power optimization for Authenticator or Company Portal.
- Open Authenticator or Company Portal before opening Outlook.
- If sign-in still fails, verify the account can sign in through Outlook on the web or webmail. If web sign-in also fails, the account issue must be resolved first.
- If the account is a work or school account and Outlook still cannot sign in on the new phone, contact the Microsoft 365 admin or technical support.
If the error shown is NoSuchAccountException: Login Error on iOS, check these specifically:
- Verify the username and password.
- Try the domain UPN address instead of the email address.
- Verify sign-in to OWA/webmail.
