How do I transfer pics and movies from laptop to IPad Air

It depends if your PC OS is Windows or Apple...

If you are using a USB cable with a Windows PC, you can easily copy photos and videos from the iPad to the computer, but not directly from the computer to the iPad's Photos app. To transfer files from your computer to your iPad via cable, Apple recommends installing the Apple Devices app, which has replaced iTunes on newer versions of Windows.

If you prefer not to use Apple software, you can transfer your files using cloud services such as iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox. Simply upload the files from your computer and access them on your iPad.

I have my own server so I'm transferring everything through it.

Another simple option is LocalSend. You can transfer files directly between your laptop and your iPad over the same Wi-Fi network.

The easiest way is usually to connect the ipad to your laptop with a USB cable and use the Apple Devices app on Windows. You can also use icloud Photos if you want to transfer them wirelessly. If you're transferring a lot of photos and videos, icloud or a USB connection is usually easier than sending them individually.

Thank you for being available. I am so confused with OneDrive! I just want the pics and movies and then delete the darn thing. The laptop I am dealing with is not supported and when I get the pics and movies I plan to junk it.

It has the small plug in where I put my charge cord and the other end plugs into a charger that plugs into a plug.
