Installing MS Visio Standard

Hello! In 2019 I purchased MS Visio Standard and installed it on my laptop. In 2021 I uninstalled it on my laptop. I am trying to install it on my new, personal laptop through office.com/setup. However, I am getting the following message: "You already redeemed this product key on December 5, 2019."

Yes, as previously stated, I did redeem the product key in 2019. However, I uninstalled it in 2021. How can I install it on my new, personal laptop?

Thank you for reaching out.

The message you received is expected because the Visio Standard 2019 product key was already redeemed on December 5, 2019. A product key is used only once to associate the license with a Microsoft account. Uninstalling Visio does not reset the key or make it available for redemption again.

To install Visio on your new laptop:

  1. Go to Microsoft account Services & subscriptions.
  2. Sign in with the same Microsoft account used to redeem Visio in 2019.
  3. Find Visio Standard 2019 under your purchased products.
  4. Select Install and run the downloaded installer.
  5. After installation, open Visio and sign in with the same Microsoft account to activate it.

If Visio does not appear, please check any other Microsoft accounts you may have used in 2019. This could include an Outlook, Hotmail, Gmail, or another email address registered as a Microsoft account.

Please note that you do not need to use office.com/setup again, as that page is only for the initial redemption of a new product key.
