I installed microsoft 365 and I can't create new word documents

Try these steps in order:

1. Open Word and check whether it is signed in with the Microsoft account that has the Microsoft 365 subscription.
2. If Word is installed but not working correctly, repair Microsoft 365:
   • Right-click Start.
   • In Windows 11, select Installed apps. In Windows 10, select Apps and Features.
   • Select the Microsoft Office product.
   • Select Modify. If no options appear, select the three dots.
   • Choose Online Repair > Repair.
   • Follow the on-screen steps.

Note: This repairs the entire Office suite, not just Word. Online Repair is more thorough than Quick Repair.

3. After the repair finishes, open Word again and try creating a blank document.
4. If installation showed an error near the end but Word appears installed, restart the PC first, then run the repair again.
5. If Word keeps opening blank documents repeatedly without being prompted, update Word to Version 2509 (19231) or newer. That issue was fixed in that version and later.
