We're a UK-registered limited company attempting to complete Organization Public Trust identity validation for Azure Artifact Signing (formerly Trusted Signing), and both attempts have failed with no explanation in either the portal or the notification email.
Details:
- Subscription ID:
3cae5754-0b7a-485a-b4d5-025bdfb30372 - Identity Validation ID (1st attempt, failed):
9cc72f9a-70e8-4384-b585-237337743f69 - Identity Validation ID (2nd attempt, failed):
902cb6d7-cecc-4c23-85e5-572829ac56d6 - Organization: Hellenic Systems Ltd (UK Ltd)
- Validation type: Organization / Public Trust
What we've already checked/attempted:
- Confirmed the UK is on the current list of eligible countries for Public Trust organization validation.
- Confirmed the Organization Name and business address match our Companies House registration and our Azure billing profile exactly.
- Business Identifier submitted: [Companies House registration number].
- Completed the individual representative's verification via Microsoft Authenticator (Verified ID + face check) - this succeeded on our second attempt after initially failing with a "Card missing" error.
Specific questions:
- Could you check the backend logs for both Identity Validation IDs above and confirm the specific reason for failure? Neither the portal nor the email notification surfaces one.
- Does the Business Identifier field specifically require a DUNS number, or is a Companies House registration number acceptable? We've seen reports from other UK applicants that CRNs are sometimes rejected in favour of DUNS.
- Or something else
Grateful for any visibility into the actual rejection reason before we try again — we'd rather fix the real issue than guess a third time.
Kind regards
