Hello,

I wanted to see what the normal turnaround time is to get verification for a toll-free number that will be used to send SMS notifications from my Blazor application. I have all of the privacy policy and opt-in/out information setup. I submitted my back in July 31st and still have not received any feedback.

Thanks,

James

Hi @James Franco

Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this case.

As discussed offline, we have received confirmation that the Toll-Free Phone Number Regulatory Verification has been successfully approved from the backend. Although the portal status may not yet reflect the updated approval status, we understand and have confirmed that you are now able to successfully send SMS messages using the toll-free number.

Since the service is functioning as expected and the verification has been approved, we will proceed with closing this support case.

If you encounter any further issues or have additional questions in the future, please feel free to contact us. We will be happy to assist you.

When I go to Regulatory Documents in ACS => Settings, I am still seeing my toll-free number as Status = "Submitted". According to what was stated above it should at least be "Pending". So I am not sure what is the hold up or if they need any more information.

The normal turnaround time for Azure Communication Services toll-free verification is about 5 to 6 weeks.

For submitted applications, the documented status timeline is:

    1. Application Submitted to Pending: 1 to 5 business days
    2. Pending to a final verdict (Verified, Rejected, or More info needed): 4 to 5 weeks

When application volume is high, approval can take around 8 weeks.

Since the application was submitted on July 31, this is beyond the typical 5 to 6 week window. The next step is to check the application status in the Azure portal:

    1. Open the Azure Communication Services resource associated with the toll-free number.
    2. Go to Phone numbers or Regulatory Documents.
    3. Review the current status for the toll-free verification application and check whether it shows Pending, Verified, Rejected, or More info needed.

If the status is still pending after this extended period, review the submitted details for completeness and accuracy. Missing or incorrect information can delay verification. Status updates are communicated through the regulatory information in the Azure portal.

    A high-quality application includes:

    • All required fields completed
    • A clear opt-in process description
    • A publicly accessible opt-in image URL
    • A use case that is not in the ineligible categories
