How do I get a replacement for MS Office 2024

I purchased Office 2024 directly from Microsoft Store under my Microsoft account. The product key will not redeem on the Office setup website and, when I try to activate in the app, I receive the error PIN-INAPP-INVALIDPIN-8. I have confirmed I’m entering the 25-character key correctly, but it still fails both on the web and in the app.

Because the key appears to be blocked or invalid, please review my Office 2024 order in my account and advise on a refund or replacement.

Hi Robert,

Is it the Office Home 2024? If you purchased directly from Microsoft, it shouldn't be giving you a product key to redeem though, that's more for if you bought from third party.

When you ordered from Microsoft, the product should already automatically linked to your Microsoft account, and the account alone should serve as validation.

Are you running it on Windows 11? If so, can you go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps, uninstall any office products you might have installed previously. Then restart the computer.

Next, go to your Microsoft account to locate the Office 2024, and find the download and install link to download the installer, then run the installer to install the apps. Once installed, just sign into your Microsoft account to activate it.

Let me know if that works out.

If you want a refund, it must be done via billing support, not via community forum.

To get help, open the "Get Help" app on your computer (just search for it in the Start menu). or go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus, Type "Billing" and press Enter. On the next screen, click "Contact support" at the bottom of the page, then choose "Microsoft 365" > "Manage my subscription". You’ll then see the option to chat with a Microsoft support agent who has access to your account to help review the issue.
