can't play minecraft with daughter

Why is this so incredibly complicated? My daughter wants to play java minecraft with me. Apparently I need to make her an account and purchase minecraft for her separately, which is fine.

I tried to make her a minecraft account, but apparently that needs a microsoft account first. But making her a microsoft account apparently requires me to go to the family portal and create it from there, as a part of my family. I tried multiple times. A few of the attempts were foiled when you sent codes to her email address (a gmail address, managed by me) that I was supposed to type back in the account creation page, only the codes wouldn't work. I know I was copy/pasting the right ones, the ones most recently received. I don't know why you're sending bad codes. Then after clearing caches and tryin again finally I got past the code, it asked for her name...then the account creation was blocked with no explanation, just something about suspect activity detected. Was it because of the bad codes you were sending? So I tried to just make her a standalone account, outside the family portal. But that was blocked because, too many codes sent today, sorry try again tomorrow.

I can try again tomorrow but this is ridiculous. Now my autistic kid is throwing a fit because your system doesn't work. I tried calling only to have the computer hang up on me over and over, redirecting me to websites that aren't helpful for this issue. What am I supposed to do here? How does one play minecraft with their kid? How can I get help for my issue?

    Hi adam peitz

It sounds like the issue is occurring during Microsoft account creation rather than with Minecraft itself. Repeated verification attempts can sometimes trigger temporary security blocks, which may explain the invalid code and "suspicious activity" messages.

I'd suggest waiting until the temporary limit resets, then trying a single account creation attempt using only the most recent verification code received. If the issue continues, you'll likely need assistance from Microsoft Account Support, as forum members cannot remove account creation restrictions.

Since this is a public forum, please do not post any email addresses, verification codes, or other personal information.

You can contact support through: Microsoft Support and choose Microsoft Account > Account Creation/Sign-in for further assistance.
