Did you successfully install Office on your device? By the way, do you have a PC or a Mac?

Which operating system version are you running? This is especially important if you have a Mac.

Confirm that your subscription is active. You should be able to do that in your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com/services but note that if you purchased via a third-party (for example, via the App Store), the steps will be different.

    Hi!

Check the AI Answer step to confirm that it has indeed been renewed.

    1. Close all Office apps.
    2. Check that the subscription is active on the Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services. Make sure the same Microsoft account used for the renewal is signed in. (...)

In some cases, it may take up to 24 hours to update.

Another thing you can try is to sign out of your account in Word under File > Account, restart your computer, and sign in again.

    1. Close all Office apps.
    2. Check that the subscription is active on the Services & subscriptions page: https://account.microsoft.com/services. Make sure the same Microsoft account used for the renewal is signed in.
    3. If the subscription shows expired, renew it there, then restart Word.
    4. If the subscription is active, go to Payment options: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments and update the payment method if it shows an error.
    5. Open Word, go to File > Account, and make sure Word is signed in with the same account that has the active subscription.
    6. Sign out of the wrong account if needed, sign back in with the subscribed account, then restart Word.
    7. If Word still shows a subscription notice after renewal, check whether the renewal still needs a product key entry. If the renewal was bought as a physical box or retail card, enter the product key from the box/card or use the link in the email receipt.
    8. If access is needed immediately, use Word for the web at https://microsoft365.com while the desktop app issue is being resolved.
    9. If the subscription status looks correct online but Word still cannot be used, contact Microsoft Support.

If Microsoft 365 is used through work or school, contact the Microsoft 365 admin or IT department instead.
