I am unable to add some other emails to my Microsoft app after getting a new I phone. How do I solve this?

If the missing emails are work or school accounts, the usual causes are that the Authenticator backup was not fully restored, or the MFA registration for those accounts is still tied to the old phone.

    1. If the accounts were on the old iPhone, do not erase the old phone or remove Microsoft Authenticator from it until the new phone is fully working.
    2. If this is iPhone-to-iPhone, verify the Authenticator backup prerequisites on the old device:
      • iCloud Drive is enabled.
      • iCloud Keychain is enabled.
      • iCloud Backup is enabled.
      • In Saved to iCloud, Authenticator is turned on.
      • Microsoft Authenticator is version 6.8.33 or later.
      • The app was opened at least once before switching phones.
    3. On the new iPhone, uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Authenticator. For iOS backup restore issues, this can make the backup appear.
    4. If Authenticator shows “Sign in to add your account” for a work or school account after restore, open that account in the app and sign in again. That is expected after restore.
    5. If the account still cannot be added, add the new phone again as an authentication method from the My Sign-Ins page for that account, then complete the Authenticator setup prompts.
    6. If some of the missing emails belong to other organizations where guest access was granted before the phone change, those MFA registrations may not transfer automatically. Remove and re-add the Authenticator method for each affected organization.
    7. If access to those accounts is blocked and no alternate MFA method is available, the IT administrator for each organization must reset MFA so Authenticator can be registered again on the new phone.

    Important limits:

    • Authenticator backup cannot be restored from Android to iPhone or from iPhone to Android.
    • For work access on a new iPhone, if app-based MFA is used, the old phone is needed during setup unless MFA is re-registered on the new device.
