A free app and service that helps families create healthy digital habits and stay connected. It’s designed to support both online safety and real-world awareness by offering tools for screen time management, content filtering, and location sharing
A family organizer cannot be removed directly by another member unless an organizer performs the removal. The supported options are:
- To remove a family organizer or any other member from the family group:
- Sign in with an organizer account at account.microsoft.com/family
- Select the ... next to that person’s name
- Choose Remove from family group
- Select Remove to confirm
- If the account is a child account and Remove from family group is not available:
- Select Remove consent for this child’s account first
- Return to the family group
- Then select Remove from family group
- To delete the family group entirely:
- An organizer must remove all other organizers and members first
- After everyone else is removed, select Leave family group on the organizer’s own name
- To change the email on a Microsoft account:
- Go to Your info at https://account.live.com/names/manage
- Choose Add email, Add phone number, or Remove next to an existing address
- If changing the sign-in email, add the new alias first, then remove the old one
Important:
- Leaving or being removed from a family group does not delete the Microsoft account.
- Anyone removed from a family group loses access to shared Family Safety features and shared purchases or services such as Microsoft 365 Family.
- If removing a Microsoft-domain alias such as @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com, that alias is permanently deleted and cannot be used again with any Microsoft account.
