Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy

While on vacation in a different country, Microsoft automatically locked me out of my hotmail account
That type of lock is normally temporary and should clear 24 to 48 hours after you have returned.
What does the Account Sign-In Helper say about the status of your account?
- In a Private/Incognito browser session, open: https://aka.ms/sign-in-helper
- Scroll down to "Choose how you normally sign in, then enter your details"
- Click "With an email address"
- Enter your email address and click [OK]
have not been able to find any chat option
Chat Support
- Open a browser to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/home/contact
- Tell us your problem: {Whatever}
- [Get Help] {Scroll down to the bottom of the page} [Sign in to Contact Support]
- Sign in with any valid Microsoft account
- (Once you are in Chat you can tell them the actual account with the problem).
- Products and services: "Other Products"
- Category: "Manage Account Security"
- [Confirm]
- Choose a support option -> "Chat with a support agent in your web browser"
- BUT Microsoft Account Security is an automated process. Microsoft Support Agents can not unlock an account, reset your password, or change any Security Settings no matter what documentation you can present.
If you can complete one verification step for your account (e.g. password)
but can't access any of the other verification methods, and have repeatedly failed the Account Recovery process, or can't use Account Recovery because your account has Two-step Verification (2FA, MFA), then you can try to request that all the verification methods be replaced.
This will put your account in a 30 day "Pending Request" state. You will have limited access to the account during this period or no access at all if the account has Two-step Verification enabled.
