I am a full-time university student at [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]

I am trying to activate Azure for Students using my official university email address ending in @usa.edu.co.

I accessed the Azure for Students offer directly and completed the registration process. I also completed the MFA security setup.

However, after completing the process I receive:

"You're not eligible for an Azure free account."

In the Azure Portal:

  • Current directory: Universidad Sergio Arboleda (usa.edu.co)
  • No Azure subscriptions are listed.
  • I have no other directories available.

I have not knowingly used an Azure for Students subscription before.

Could you please help me determine why my Azure for Students eligibility is being rejected and how I can activate the student subscription?

Thank you.

Hi Dilan,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the error message you provided, in this situation, you should contact your school's administrator (such as the IT department or administrative office) to verify whether your school has successfully completed the academic registration and verification process with Microsoft for the school's tenant.

If the administrator confirms that the school's tenant has been successfully verified and registered as an academic institution, you will need to ask them to create a support ticket with Microsoft Technical Support so that the issue can be further investigated on the backend.

You can also provide the administrator with the following documentation on how to create a support ticket with Microsoft Technical Support:

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.
