A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
If OneDrive is not syncing and the cloud option is not appearing, reset the OneDrive app on Windows.
- Press Windows + R.
- Type
wsreset.exeand select OK.- A blank Command Prompt window may open and close briefly, then Microsoft Store may open. That can be ignored.
- Press Windows + R again.
- Paste this command and select OK:
%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset - If Windows says it cannot find that file, try:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset - If that still fails, try:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset - Manually restart OneDrive:
- Open Start
- Type OneDrive
- Select the OneDrive desktop app
Important:
- Resetting OneDrive can resolve sync issues and resets all OneDrive settings.
- OneDrive will perform a full sync after the reset.
- Files and data are not lost by resetting OneDrive.
- Resetting disconnects existing sync connections, including personal and work or school accounts.
If syncing still does not return after the reset, try unlinking and relinking the account, or use the guided troubleshooter.
