    Hi,

Regarding the error message: "Your account can view documents, but it doesn't allow editing on a Mac."

This message is commonly seen when the Microsoft 365 license assigned to the account does not include rights to use the desktop Office applications on macOS.

Could you please verify with your IT administrator whether your Microsoft 365 license includes access to the desktop Office apps for Mac, rather than web-based access only?

If the license does include desktop Office applications, please ask your IT administrator to complete the following steps to refresh the license assignment:

Remove the license from your account.

Allow a few minutes for the changes to synchronize.

Reassign the license to your account.

Sign out of all Office applications on the Mac, then sign back in using your work or school account.

Once the license has been reassigned and activation has been refreshed, please test the Office applications again and let me know whether the issue persists.

    Best regards.
