A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
In Office, enable local saving as the default:
- Open Excel.
- Go to File > Options > Save.
- Check Save to Computer by default.
- In Default local file location, select Browse... and choose a folder on the PC, such as Documents or Desktop.
- Save the workbook again.
If Excel still prefers OneDrive in the newer save experience, use either of these:
- In the save window, open the Location drop-down, right-click a recent local folder, and select Set as Default Location.
- Use File > Save As or press F12 to open the full save dialog, then choose This PC or Browse and pick a local folder.
Important: the selected local folder must be outside the local OneDrive folder. Files saved inside the OneDrive folder are synchronized to OneDrive by default.
