A family of Microsoft word processing software products for creating web, email, and print documents.
Hi Dirk,
Thank you for sharing the details about your situation.
Based on the behavior you described, it appears that your Office apps may be affected by the “License Not Found” / Unknown Error 0x0 issue on macOS. Although your Mac has already been updated to macOS Monterey 12.7.6, the issue may still occur if the Office apps were installed from a source that does not match your Microsoft 365 license, or if the local Office installation is not properly detecting the license.
As the next step, please try removing the current Office apps and reinstalling Office directly from Microsoft’s download page instead of the Mac App Store.
You can follow the steps below:
- Remove the Office apps from your Mac
- Open Finder
- Go to Applications
- Drag all Microsoft Office apps, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote, to the Trash
- Empty the Trash
- Sign in to your Microsoft account
- Go to: https://portal.office.com/account#installs
- Sign in with the Microsoft account associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription
- Select Install Office
- Download and reinstall Office for Mac
- Run the installer downloaded from the Microsoft account page
- Once the installation is complete, open Word or Excel
- Sign in again using the Microsoft account linked to your Microsoft 365 subscription

If the issue continues after reinstalling Office from Microsoft’s website, please let me know.
I hope this helps move the case forward. Should you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please feel free to share them in the comment below. I'm very happy to help.
