Microsoft Outlook – Is there a better way to block SPAM from an entire domain?

Although I have a method for blocking a domain in Outlook I wonder if there's a better way than my method.

I use the following cumbersome method to block a domain in Outlook.

Copy the email address

Step 1 (1 click):

Right-click over the mail address and select

Step 2 (5 clicks – 6 cumulative clicks):

Junk > Junk email options . . .  > blocked Senders (tab) > Add . . .

Step 3: (two key strokes)

Then ctrl-v to paste the copied email

Step 4: (multiple key strokes for editing & 2 clikcs – 8 cumulative clicks)

The manually edit the pasted email text so that you only see @spamdomain.com

Then click OK (twice)

Step 5:  (3 clicks – 11 cumulative clicks)

Then right-click the same email and select block sender (and click OK)

So, this all adds up to about 11 clicks and a bunch of keystrokes just to block one domain. So, my basic question is this:

Is there an easier way to block a domain in Outlook (a 1 click solution)?

P.S. I have no idea if I have the "Classic" Outlook or the "New" Outlook. I am unable to identify this on my own just by looking or using Outlook.

    Hi,

Regarding your concern, unfortunately, as of now, Outlook does have a quick Block Sender action, but it does not provide a one-click “block this sender’s domain” command in the normal message menu. The quick Block Sender action only blocks the individual sender address, not the whole domain. The documented way to block a domain is to add the domain manually to the Blocked senders list, as you have done.

On the other hand, to check whether you have "classic Outlook" or "New Outlook", the easiest way is to look at the top-right corner of your Outlook interface:

    • If you see a Settings gear/button > that's New Outlook
    • If there isn't a Settings gear/button and you also have a File tab > that's classic Outlook

That said, based on the steps you have done via Junk > Junk email options . . . > Blocked Senders (tab), you're using classic Outlook. If you're using New Outlook, the path would be Settings gear > Mail > Junk email > Blocked domains > Add the domain @spamdomain.com and then Save. Compared to classic Outlook, New Outlook may have fewer clicks, but still there isn't a one-click solution to block a domain.
