For home users, the supported path is to use Get Help and request chat or a call back instead of relying on the general phone line.

    1. Open Start.
    2. Type Get Help.
    3. Open Get Help.
    4. Enter a short description of the issue.
    5. If self-help does not solve it, select Contact Support.
    6. Select the affected product or service.
    7. Complete any additional prompts, then select Confirm.
    8. Choose one of these contact methods if offered:
      • Chat with a support agent in your web browser
      • Provide your phone number and a support agent will call you

Contact options depend on the product, scenario, subscription, and support hours.

If the issue is related to a Microsoft account, there is also an I need to talk to a customer support agent option on the Microsoft account help page.

If needed, the general Microsoft support contact page is also available here: Contact a Microsoft support agent
