Request for MFA Reset – Su.edu.sa Student Account

I am reaching out regarding an issue with my university account [Moderator note: Personally Identifiable Information removed]

I am currently locked out due to Microsoft Authenticator Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). When I try to log into university applications like Outlook, it prompts for an Authenticator approval/code. However, when I try to set up the Authenticator app on my new device, it also asks for confirmation from the Authenticator app itself, creating a loop.

My previous device, which was originally configured for MFA, has been factory reset, and I no longer have access to it.

Could you please perform an MFA Reset (Require Re-register MFA) for my account and revoke all previous device sessions? This will allow me to register my new phone as the primary authentication device.

I am ready to provide any verification details or identity documents needed to prove ownership of the account.

It sounds like you're experiencing a Microsoft Authenticator MFA loop. This commonly happens when the original device used for MFA is no longer available, and the system still requires approval from that device before allowing a new one to be registered.

The best course of action is to contact your university’s IT administrator, as they are the team best positioned to resolve this issue. They can reset your multi-factor authentication (MFA) settings, which will allow you to sign in again.

This process usually takes only a few minutes. It will clear your previous MFA registration and sign-in sessions, and the next time you sign in, you'll be prompted to set up MFA again from scratch on your new phone. In most cases, this resolves the issue and allows Microsoft Authenticator to function normally again, including receiving approval prompts and generating verification codes.
