Account Hijacked, Authenticator Broken, and Stuck in Microsoft's Absurd 30-Day Security Lock
Hi Microsoft Community,
I am writing this out of sheer frustration because there is no easy way to contact a real human support team, and when I finally found a way to make a support ticket, the bloody agent closed it instantly on me.
My primary Microsoft account was compromised during a recent malware incident that affected several of my accounts (Steam, Discord, Riot Games, and Epic Games, all of which I successfully recovered within 1 to 2 days).
When I tried to log in to play Minecraft today, my Microsoft Authenticator wouldn't work. Even when I enter the valid authenticator code I have on my physical phone, the system throws this error:
"There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later."
Out of sheer desperation to regain access, I initiated a security info replacement myself using my secondary email (******@gmail.com), only to find out that Microsoft has locked me out with a 30-day pending waiting period.
A 30-day waiting period is completely absurd. Other major platforms (like Riot Games and Epic Games) handle account recovery securely and resolve things in 24 to 48 hours. Forcing a rightful owner to wait a month just because their automated system is rigid and clunky is a massive design flaw.
What I Have Tried So Far:
The ACSR Recovery Form: I filled out the manual recovery form ([account.live.com/acsr](https://account.live.com/acsr)) accurately, providing historical account data and even the billing details of the bank debit card I used for purchases on the account.
The Result: Shortly after submitting it, I received an automated email saying that because two-step verification was turned on, the system automatically ignored my recovery request.
Support Dead Ends: Trying to use automated support channels loops endlessly, throws temporary error codes, or drops chat sessions entirely because consumer support agents lack manual override tools—or worse, just close out tickets on you without helping.
Proof of Ownership / Backend Logs:
If an official Microsoft support worker or safety team member checks the account's historical audit logs, it will definitively show my original phone number, my past passwords, and my device/IP history tied to this account for years.
What I Need:
How can I get a real human support escalation to bypass or cancel this 30-day waiting period and restore access to my account immediately? Or at least in a week?
