No one should continue to use an account that was hijacked.

1- You don't know what malware may have been planted in that account.

2- The hijacker knows everything about you that was in the account, all of which was copied, and can use that information to impersonate you on the Internet.

Instead, you should abandon that account and make a new one. Be on the lookout for signs that your identity may have been stolen.

The message appears because the incorrect birth date makes the Microsoft account look like a child account. An empty consent page usually means consent was granted by another adult account, or no consent has been granted yet.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

Sign in to the affected account at Microsoft account sign-in. When prompted, select I’m a parent or guardian.

Sign in with a different adult personal Microsoft account. You can create a temporary adult account if necessary, then select Yes, I agree to provide consent.

Using that same adult account, open Manage child accounts. The affected account should now appear. Select Edit this child’s personal info, correct the birth date, and save it.

Return to the affected account’s profile and correct the country/region. Afterward, complete Australia’s age verification if prompted. Age verification applies to both the Microsoft account and Xbox account.

Since the account was previously compromised, also change the password, review security information, and sign out of unrecognized devices before making these changes.
