Hi Kalib Boring,

I understand how frustrating it is to face a month-long security restriction, especially when you have been unable to reach a support agent.

Please note that this is a user-to-user forum, so contributors cannot access your account, review its security status, or shorten a security waiting period.

The Q&A Assist answer is generally correct that Microsoft Support cannot manually bypass account protection. Have you had a chance to try the applicable steps in that answer?

I would also like to add instructions for contacting Microsoft Support directly:

1, Visit the Microsoft Support contact page: Contact - Microsoft Support

2, In the search bar provided on the page, type "Account recovery" and press Enter.

3, Click on the "Get Help" button that appears.

4, Scroll down the page until you see and click on the "Contact Support" option.

5, When prompted to select your product or service, choose "Other Products".

6, For the category, choose "Manage account security".

7, Look for and click on "Chat with a support agent in your web browser".

8, Confirm your personal email when prompted - this is the email Microsoft will use to communicate with you during and after the support session.

9, When connected, clearly explain your situation. Be concise but include all relevant details.

Contact options can vary by region, account, support hours, and issue category. Support can clarify the account process, but agents are not permitted to change account security details or bypass the waiting period.

If you would also like help from the community, please provide the exact message displayed and confirm whether you initiated the security information change. Do not include your email address, phone number, or other private account details.

I hope this helps you reach the appropriate support channel and clarify the restriction.

For a personal Microsoft account, support cannot manually change security info, send verification codes, or bypass account protection.

Use one of these account recovery paths:

    1. On the sign-in screen, select I don't have any of these when asked to verify with the old phone number.
    2. Follow the prompts to add new security info.
    3. If prompted, use the Account recovery form.
    4. If sign-in still fails, use the Sign-in helper.

    Important details:

    • If a message says to make sure a security code can be received, security info must be verified or updated. It can be skipped for 24 hours at a time, but after seven days it must be completed before sign-in continues.
    • Do not change all security info at the same time, because the account may be restricted for 30 days.
    • If two-step verification is turned on and none of the alternate verification methods are accessible, support agents are not allowed to reset the account or change the account details.
    • If another verification method is available, such as a different email or phone already on the account, use that method first and then update the phone number in account settings.

If access to the account is regained, the phone number or email alias can be updated from Your info here: Edit account info.

For technical support, use Contact Microsoft Support, but account security details still cannot be changed by support.
