Recommended Microsoft 365 Solution for Recurring EHS Compliance Audits

I'm working on an EHS compliance tracking solution and would like to understand Microsoft's recommended approach.

Requirements:

  • Schedule recurring audits (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, etc.)
  • Send automated reminders before audits are due
  • Track completion status
  • Retain historical audit records
  • Provide a calendar view for upcoming audits

My current prototype uses a SharePoint List with a calendar view and Power Automate for reminders. However, Microsoft Lists does not appear to support recurring events natively.

As a workaround, I've considered generating future audit occurrences in Excel and importing them into the SharePoint List, but this feels like I'm working around a limitation rather than following Microsoft's intended design.

What Microsoft 365 products or architecture do Microsoft customers typically use for compliance calendars, recurring audits, inspections, and regulatory tasks?
