Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Try these steps in order for a Microsoft sign-in page that keeps reloading:
- Use the Microsoft account Sign-in Helper. It checks the account details and identifies common sign-in problems.
- Open a private browsing window, then try signing in again.
- Clear the browser cache and cookies, close the browser completely, and retry.
- Make sure the browser allows cookies. A blocked cookie setting can cause repeated sign-in or reload loops.
- If the issue happens on support-related Microsoft pages, check browser security zone settings:
-
microsoft.com -
support.microsoft.com -
login.live.com -
login.microsoftonline.comThese sites should not be split across different security zones. If one must be in Trusted sites, add all of them there.
-
- Go directly to
https://login.live.com/, sign in there first, then open the Microsoft site again in a new tab. - If the password is no longer accepted, or the account details are not recognized, use the recovery options:
- Reset a forgotten password
- Look up the Microsoft account username
- Troubleshoot verification code issues
If the problem is with a work or school account instead of a personal Microsoft account, use the correct My Apps address, verify the password has not expired, confirm security info is current, add the My Apps portal to Internet Properties > Security > Trusted sites, and clear the browser cache.
