Azure for Students credits not being used for Foundry

I deployed an instance of GPT 5.6 Luna through Foundry, which is marked as a 'Direct from Azure' product, meaning it should qualify for credits, however instead of the $100 Azure for Students credit being used, my credit card is being charged. I cannot find any information explaining how this should work or how to fix it in the terms or the internet. Am I doing something wrong or is this how it's supposed to work?

    If the model is shown in Microsoft Foundry as “Direct from Azure”, it is sold and billed directly by Azure, and Foundry documentation indicates these models are eligible for Azure sponsorship credits

    Azure for Students provides $100 in Azure credit, and eligible Azure usage is deducted from that balance.

    I recommend checking the following:

    Open the Azure Sponsorships portal and confirm that your $100 credit is still available.

    Check Usage and verify whether the Foundry deployment appears as Azure consumption.

    In Cost Management, check the exact meter/charge associated with the GPT-5.6 Luna deployment.

    1. If the model is definitely Direct from Azure but the usage is being charged to your payment method instead of consuming the student credit, this would need to be reviewed by Microsoft Billing/Foundry support.

    Also, make sure the subscription is actually Azure for Students and not a Pay-As-You-Go subscription linked to the same account.
