Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Since you can't receive the verification codes, please try these steps:

  1. Avoid submitting multiple requests, since this could stop verification codes from being delivered.
  2. Suspicious traffic from your geographical location may cause delays in delivering verification codes. These uncommon issues usually resolve on their own after some time.
  3. Check your email inbox, junk and spam folders in case you received the codes there.

If you still can't receive the codes, this may indicate that your account is blocked due to unusual activity. You will not be able to receive verification codes until the account block expires, as stated by Microsoft, particularly under "I'm not getting my Microsoft account verification codes": https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/troubleshooting-verification-code-issues-409090c4-92b5-42b9-8ae6-bcc97e62fc48#:~:text=If%20you%20received%20a%20Microsoft%20verification%20code%20that%20you%20did#:~:text=If%20you%20received%20a%20Microsoft%20verification%20code%20that%20you%20did

Kindly perform these steps to fix the error:

  1. Perform a password reset via Incognito/InPrivate window using different devices and network services.
  2. If it doesn't work, wait exactly 24 hours to reset the password.
  3. If the issue persists, kindly wait exactly 48 hours to perform another password reset.
  4. In case the 48 hours don't work, you may need to wait a longer period, exactly a week. The idea is to wait for the account lock to expire first before you reset the password.
  5. Lastly, if the error remains after a week of waiting, try to submit an account reinstatement form in order to check your account status and if it can be reinstated: https://www.microsoft.com/concern/AccountReinstatement?SilentAuth=1&wa=wsignin1.0 You may receive the results via email within 48 - 72 hours.

Important: Please make sure not to attempt to sign in or reset the password within that timeframe (24 hours, 48 hours, and a week), as this may reset the lock cooldown.

Once you have regained access to your account, I highly recommend adding three or more security info to your account for additional verification options, such as a recovery email address, a passkey, and Microsoft Authenticator on account.microsoft.com > Security > Manage how I Sign in > Then click on "Add another way to sign in to your account"

Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

Best regards,

Darhyl

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Check the correct mailbox. Verification codes sent by email are only sent to the primary alias or another email already added as a sign-in verification method.
    2. Check the Junk folder for a message from Microsoft. Valid verification codes come from @accountprotection.microsoft.com. Mark that sender as trusted.
    3. Avoid repeated code requests. Excessive or repetitive requests can trigger a temporary block and stop codes from being sent.
    4. If the account uses another Microsoft email address as the alternate email (@outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com), use two privacy-mode browser windows:
      • In the first private window, sign in to the account requesting the code.
      • Keep that window open.
      • Open a second private window and sign in to the alternate email account.
      • Copy the verification code from that mailbox and return to the first window.
    5. Check whether the account may be blocked for unusual activity. In that case, verification messages might not go through until the issue is resolved.
    6. If access to the current security email has been lost, select I don't have any of these during sign-in and follow the prompts to replace the security info.
    7. If still blocked, try another verification method connected to the account, or wait before trying again. Repeated attempts can extend the block.
    8. If sign-in still fails, use the sign-in helper tool: Sign-in helper
    9. For technical support, use Contact Microsoft Support. Support agents cannot send verification codes or change account details.
