How do I cancel my Microsoft 365 subscription, as it’s no longer needed?

Before cancelling the subscription, please be aware that you will loose the 1TB of OneDrive storage on your account online, that will revert to the free 5GB of OneDrive storage, so, before cancelling the subscription, ensure you have a local copy of all your files on your PC

To cancel a Microsoft 365 subscription for home:

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy the subscription.
Select Cancel subscription. It might appear as Upgrade or Cancel.
Review the details on the cancel page.
Select I don't want my subscription to confirm cancellation.

Important details:

If Turn on recurring billing appears instead of Cancel subscription, the subscription is already set to expire on the shown date, and no further action is needed.
If the subscription was bought through a third-party retailer instead of Microsoft, cancellation must be done through that retailer.
After canceling Microsoft 365 Basic, Personal, Family, or Premium, storage returns to 5 GB of cloud storage and 15 GB of Outlook.com storage.
If storage usage is above the free allowance after cancellation:
- New OneDrive uploads, edits, or sync stop.
- Outlook.com email sending and receiving stop.
- After 6 months, OneDrive and its files may be deleted.
