To add Microsoft 365 to a new MacBook Pro:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 account or install page and sign in with the Microsoft account that has the subscription.
    2. Select Install or Install apps to download the Mac installer.
    3. Open the downloaded installer package and follow the on-screen steps to install the apps.
    4. After installation, open Word or another Office app from Launchpad.
    5. When the What’s New window appears, select Get Started to activate.
    6. Sign in with the same Microsoft account if prompted.

If the apps were downloaded from the Mac App Store, note that:

    • Microsoft 365 subscriptions can be activated there.
    • One-time Office licenses such as Office 2016 or Office 2019 are not compatible with Mac App Store versions and must use apps downloaded directly from Microsoft.

If Outlook is needed after installation:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Enter the Microsoft 365 email address and password.
    3. Select Add Account.
    4. Select Done.

    Hi, @Robert Berg

If you already have an active Microsoft 365 subscription, you do not need to buy it again.

    On your new MacBook:

    1. Sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/services using the Microsoft account linked to your subscription.
    2. Select "Install apps" and download Microsoft 365.
    3. Open the downloaded installer and follow the prompts.
    4. After installation, open Word or Excel and sign in with the same Microsoft account to activate it.

Before you do that, do you already have a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscription? If so, does it show as active under your Microsoft account subscriptions?

    Thanks!
