Email line and contact card cut off full email address - can't confirm it's the correct contact

The Outlook contact card feature doesn't show the actual email address in the email itself and cuts off the email address in the Contact Card pop-up as shown below (this email address is just a generic example to illustrate the point). The Chat line blocks the full email from showing in the contact card so it's impossible to confirm which email address and email domain this is sending to without actually clicking reply or copying the full email address.

I would like to be able to turn off the chat part of the contact card so that I can see the full email address or be able to resize the contact card so that I can see the full email address. We have a number of contacts that have the same name but different domains for instance and I need to be able to quickly see to confirm I'm emailing the right address.

(These are system-generated contact cards, it would be worthless to manually change thousands of contact cards so that the email address shows in the name for instance - the system should allow you to view the full email address by just clicking the pop-up card). I don't want to turn off the auto-generate contact feature as it is helpful to have email addresses saved in Outlook, I just want to be able to see the full email address I'm sending to when I click the pop-up contact card.

Hi @Anonymous

From what I research, Chat cannot be disabled and the contact card cannot be resized, as Microsoft does not provide supported options to hide the Chat section or adjust the size/layout of the Microsoft 365 profile card.

Microsoft does offer limited profile card customization through registry keys, allowing administrators to replace or add certain labels and attributes in the Contact section of the profile card. However, there are currently no supported options to hide the Chat section or resize the profile card.

Here are some possible workarounds:

Hover over the email field and the full email address will show up. Screenshot 2026-08-07 at 23.45.04 Verify the recipient address from the compose window (when reply or forward), where Outlook typically exposes the full SMTP address including domain before sending.

If you would like Microsoft to consider adding this functionality in a future update, you can submit feedback through the Outlook Feedback portal. Customer feedback is reviewed by the product team.
