My sister can no get into her account . Microsoft has an old e-mail address and the phone says "That phone number doesn't look right. Please check the country code and phone number." in spit of it being correct. I tried signing her up for a new account but they say the email is used and yet when I use that e-mail to find account it says it is not found. Yesterday I sighed in Okay 10 minutes later I could not using all the same information I had used earlier. Also when I try to recover using the phone number it say that method is not working now try later. No matter the way I try to get her going I am stonewalled

The combination of “account not found” during sign-in and “email already used” during registration may indicate that the address is not the account’s current sign-in alias, or that an alias was changed or removed. Microsoft states that when a Microsoft-domain alias such as an Outlook or Hotmail address is removed, it is permanently deleted and cannot be associated with any Microsoft account again. Because the account worked and then stopped within ten minutes, an unauthorized change is also possible; in that case, use Microsoft’s compromised-account process rather than creating another account.

Unfortunately, support agents cannot manually change the account’s sign-in name, security information, or send a password-reset link, so the exact error message is necessary to identify the remaining recovery route.
