Sharepoint unable to use browser back button to go back

Hi all,

Good day.

I have a user using Chrome on an older Mac and she is unable to use the back to go back to the previous page. She is using browser directly, and not whatever that pops out when you "install page as an app" (e.g. PWA?)

What I mean is that it almost feels like a single-page application, when she presses the back button, it literally goes to the previous page she was on (e.g. new tab). Whenever she click to enter a folder inside the SharePoint, the address bar doesn't update. Thus if she does press forward button after pressing back, it will bring her to the first page of the SharePoint instead of where ever she was before.

Not sure if it is relevant, but she also seems to be stuck in a 'edit' mode or something like that as the top right of the page (below " + create or upload ") shows something like "this page has a saved draft".

What I do know is that this seems to be a private MS Teams SharePoint that I do not have permissions to access, but she is an Owner in the group.

I don't know how to replicate it, and it does not affect me or other people within the company (or I would have heard the complaint already).

    Hello @E L,

Based on the information you provided, I understand that one of your users is experiencing an issue while using SharePoint.

To determine whether the page is simply being opened in Edit mode, could you please ask the user to check the SharePoint site URL? If the URL contains Mode=Edit, as shown in the screenshot below, it indicates that the page is currently in Edit mode. If the URL does not contain this parameter, then the page is being displayed normally and is not in Edit mode.

Additionally, could you please provide the following information to help with further troubleshooting?

    1. The exact macOS version and Google Chrome version currently in use.
    2. Whether the same issue occurs when accessing the SharePoint site through Safari or Microsoft Edge.
    3. Whether the issue can be reproduced when using an Incognito/InPrivate window in Chrome or a different browser profile.

You also mentioned a pop-up prompting the user to "Install page as an app." Could you please provide a screenshot of this message? This will help me better understand the behavior and determine whether it is related to the browser configuration.

I look forward to your update and will be happy to assist further once I have the requested information.
